When it comes to selecting the right size crane for your project, there are a few things you'll need to take into account. The first is the lifting capacity that you require. This will be dictated by the heaviest load that needs to be lifted during the course of your project. Once you know the required lifting capacity, you can begin narrowing down your search by selecting cranes within that lifting capacity range.
The next thing to consider is the working radius of the crane. This is the distance between the centerline of the crane's turntable and the outermost point of the load being lifted. It's important to select a crane with a sufficient working radius for your project, as a crane that's too small will be unable to reach the outermost points of your load.
Our team at Mareeba Crane Hire can assess your specific job requirements and help you choose the most suitable crane.
Frannas are articulated pick-and-carry cranes that are generally smaller than hydraulic truck cranes. They are able to “walk” with a load which makes them very versatile and suitable for a wide range of tasks. Hydraulic truck cranes are stationary slewing cranes that pivot from a central point and generally have more boom extension than a Franna for lifting heavier weights at full extension.
A telehandler is an all-terrain forklift that is used for lifting and moving. It consists of a boom which can be extended and retracted and a bucket or pallet forks on the end of the boom. Telehandlers can also be fitted with a personnel basket. The telehandler is an extremely versatile piece of construction equipment being commonly used to lift and move heavy loads of material onto trucks or around construction sites. It can also be used to move heavier equipment when required.
